We currently have additional tours scheduled Thursday, July 9 and Monday, July 13, and expect to schedule more additional tours. Come take a walking ghost tour through downtown Chattanooga, hearing tales (and maybe even getting pictures) of some of the city's TRUE hauntings! The tour begins at Walnut Street Bridge (downtown side), and proceeds at a leisurely pace to the Read House, home of the infamous Room 311 and its permanent inhabitant, Anna Lisa Netherly. Numerous stops occur along the way, where you will hear ghost stories and other entertaining tidbits about various sites.Weekend tours from March until fall begin Friday and Saturday nights at the Walnut Street Bridge at 8:15 pm, with fall tours beginning at 7:30 pm.
ALL TOURS BEGIN AT THE DOWNTOWN SIDE OF THE WALNUT STREET BRIDGE. RESERVATIONS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!
Tours are also available by appointment at other times, provided you have a group of at least 4 people.
You may either park near the Read House and catch the free electric shuttle to the depot at the Bijou Theatre, then walk to the Walnut Street Bridge, or park near the Walnut Street Bridge (or Bijou) and shuttle back to the Bijou after the tour. Note that the last shuttle now runs at 11:00 pm! If you are looking the location up with a GPS, put in the address 100 Walnut Street (which is different from our mailing address). Tour is approximately 12 blocks. Please note that we do not make restroom stops along the way, and there is no public restroom at the bridge where the tour begins. There are public restrooms in a building on the Aquarium grounds (to the Chestnut Street side)

The tour is conducted by actors and storytellers; however, no actors will follow, jump out, or otherwise "spook" you. Therefore, this tour is suitable for youngsters who are not overly frightened simply from hearing stories. The stories in this tour have been researched; many are supported by newspaper articles, and the remainder by books. The tour will include some of the rich history of downtown Chattanooga and its buildings, as well as information on the ghosts that have been known to haunt the area.

DON'T FORGET TO BRING YOUR CAMERAS, as ghost orbs have been known to frequently appear at some of the sites we will be visiting. You can see examples of ghost pictures and orbs we have taken on our tour and elsewhere by clicking our links. (Please note that our pictures show up better on some computers than others. If you cannot see some of the orbs or faces, try increasing brightness on your monitor.)
The cost of the tour is $13.00 for adults and $8.00 for children under 12. Group rates are also available for groups of 8 or more. We accept cash or check at the time of the tour. If you desire to use a credit card, you may do so by purchasing your ticket at Chattanooga Visitor's Bureau (although discounts are not available through them); however, you still must call for a reservation. Prepayment required for specially set tours (tours other than Friday and Saturday nights, and winter tours).

SCHOOL GROUPS: We are now going to begin booking school tour groups of no more than around 60 students, with special pricing. (If you have more, we may be able to schedule more than one guide.) These are daytime tours only. Groups of at least 30 students will be $6.00 per person; groups of 50+ will be $5.00 per person. Call for details.

For the low price of $200.00, you get your own tour guide to take you and up to 25 of your friends on your own personal ghost tour, on a day and time selected by you.
