Though some have deduced that the rumors of ghost sightings are mere publicity gimmick for their forthcoming suspense movie, ‘Patient X,’ not a few were caught in disbelief after a picture that supposedly debunks the theory saw publication recently.

The picture, which shows producer Joel Abacan sitting on a bed seemingly alone in a dark room, was normal—until one notices the shadow looming behind him.

Abacan swore he was alone in that room when the photo was taken.

“It wasn’t mine, the picture shows where my shadow was, and that one, that (other) shadow was up like that,” he says, describing the picture to a news team.

Though there are those who say the photo is fake, it wasn’t only Abacan who had experienced eerie happenings on the movie’s set. Some of these people claim to have also seen a “white lady” and a “casper-like” kid ghost.

Line producer Elaine Lozano says the caretaker of the abandoned hospital where they shot several scenes for the movie confirmed that there are indeed “spirits” residing in the area.

“They told me that they always see and feel things. Among the most common sighting is (that of) the young ghost…this is supposedly the spirit of a child who died in an accident years ago,” she explains.

The movies’ lead star Richard Gutierrez didn’t affirm nor deny said rumor as he didn’t experience any of it firsthand. “I heard talks, but that’s about it,” he says.

"Patient X" leading lady Cristine Reyes seconds these stories.

“The crew and some of the other staff would tell me (that) they see and hear things. They weren’t complaining nor scared but just talking about it. Personally, I haven’t experienced any of it,” she says.

Curiously, some netizens are maliciously putting a new twist on the incident, alleging that the haunting is caused by none other than Gutierrez’s deceased assistant, Nomar Pardo.

Early this year, Gutierrez and Pardo figured in a road mishap in which the latter died almost immediately. Pardo's family and Gutierrez are currently embroiled in a legal battle in line with the incident.
