If you have seen SyFy’s Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files then Ben Hansen is probably someone you are familiar with. I had the opportunity to chat with Ben the other day and you can read all about that interview below. If you haven’t heard of Ben or the show then I highly recommend you keep reading because both are really freaking awesome..

My interview Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files personality Ben Hansen was so enlightening because by speaking with Ben you could tell he loves what he does so much. Plus the fact that he gets to follow his passion on TV too is pretty cool. I want to start off by saying Mr. Hansen was the nicest man and it was a pleasure to chat with him.

I will be the first to admit that I had not seen the show before I talked with Ben nor did I really have all that much interest in anything like UFO’s, ghosts, etc. However after listening to him talk not only did I check out the show which premiered last week but I am hooked.

One of the first things I wanted to know was how Ben got involved pursuing paranormal things. He explained that it all began as a curious kid with an interest in discovery and science. Ben actually refereed to himself as a nerd but I find it very hard to believe he was a nerd. Thanks to a fascination with the show The X-files during his high school years he decided to study Criminology in college and went on to work for a number different agencies both private and government where he got the chance to do research, conduct interviews, put together evidence and come to conclusions on different cases.

In fact Hansen actually worked for the FBI and of course that training has come in handy during the investigations he does now in general and for the show. He talked about during his days at the FBI he worked with a number of agencies interviewing victims and perpetrators which allows you to get into the human aspect, where as now when he is researching something based on just a video that element is missing. So to kind of sum up his time working for the FBI definitely helped enhance his investigative skills which now can help him immensely.

Like many of us in our line of work sometimes we just can’t do everything and it is no different with Ben. What I mean is there are times that he wants to pursue a certain video but the rest of this team doesn’t and he was nice enough to give me an example of one of those instances. There were some cases in Russia involving some triangular pyramid objects and even though it was probably going to end up being a hoax he still wanted to get there because there were so many reports on it. Ben wanted to find out if it was a mass hysteria of sorts or it something had actually been scene. However it did work out and he never got to pursue it.

Another thing I found interesting speaking with Ben was when he spoke about how there have been times when filming cases for the show that an initial assessment was made but then later something was discovered to change his mind about the initial decision. He didn’t get too specific because it involves episodes on the current season but he did say that there is a case in Washington State and we should look for it. I have to say it was not exactly the answer I was looking for it but I will definitely be watching the show to find this particular case.

My interviews with Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files personality Ben Hansen made me realize I wanted to find out even more about him which one can actually learn by watching him on the show. Just to give you a glimpse of what I am talking about you can check out the below video clip of tonight’s show which airs on SyFy at 10PM EST
