airies, ghosts and hell hounds have all been reported in and around the town of Corsham. One Paranormal Database contains alleged reports of various ghoulish behaviour happening in Corsham, as well the surrounding villages of Biddestone, Gastard, Lacock and Box.

Has there been a manifestation outside of your home?

A ‘Ghost Train’, meant to haunt Box Railway Tunnel, is listed in the database: “The sounds of phantom locomotive echo along the tracks in this tunnel.” Have you heard of this mysterious occurrence or the ghostly train itself?

Though Arnold House is known in the local area to be haunted, an “ugly fairy” is reported to have been spotted in the nearby graveyard wrapped around St Bartholomew’s Church. “This little creature, standing no taller than one metre, was seen sitting upon one of the gravestones,” details the report, “It was once seen by two women – one fainted, the other traumatised. A third woman with them saw nothing.”

A Roman Soldier supposedly haunts the Monks Park area, whilst others have professed to seeing the lost shade of a monk.

In the Royal Oak Pub in 2007, a barmaid reported seeing a black figure out of the corner of her eye and local paranormal research group, Twelfth Hour Investigations, offered to spent a night in the tavern.

Unsurprisingly, Lacock is listed as having been the scene of a manifestation where a beautiful girl is reported to haunt the abbey and a black hound has been witnessed running along the main road through the village, said to “accompany” anyone who walks through the area.

Is your road, home or village listed in the database? Has there been a ghostly sighting in your area? Tell us in the comment box below.
