A COUPLE of pool-playing spirits were said to have made their presence felt when ghost hunters carried out an investigation at a pub near Wrexham.

The owner of Legends in Hope, originally a storage barn dating back to 1884, called in members of the North Wales Paranormal Group to find out just how haunted the premises are.

And group spokesman Mike Griffiths said the results were so amazing that members are planning a further probe in the near future.

Mike says the pool-playing ghosts turned up when team members decided to place balls close to the table’s pockets and ask for the spooks to push them into the pockets.

“It was reported that one of the balls started to vibrate, move and fall in the pocket. This was witnessed by group members too,” Mike said.

“One of the mediums entered the pool room to try and establish just who was in the room. It would appear that two young boys aged between 13 and 14 years of age were active in the room.

“Only one Christian name was gleaned from one of the mediums, the name Charlie.
“Andrea, a paranormal investigator, had been standing in the same pool room and she had her walkie-talkie snatched out of her hand by unseen hands.”

In another part of the building, Mike says one of the group’s mediums picked up on a male spirit with the name Mark Anthony.

Later in the night the other medium picked up on the same spirit and said his surname was Williams.

When the group carried out a seance they claim that, on a number of occasions, Mike says that one side of the table started to lift up and then come slowly back down.

Loud banging sounds were also heard coming from the entrance to the Kitchen area, and a big drop in temperature was also experienced during the seance.

Mike added: “In an upstairs bedroom a medium contacted a spirit by the name of Sally Anne.

"This young girl, who was thought to be in her twenties, had been killed a car crash in 1966 and ironically she was wearing a petrol blue bridesmaid dress when she passed over.

“She would apparently meet up with her boyfriend in secret, because her father did not approve of him.”

The group plans to return to Legends for another investigation soon.
