STAFF at a Bridgwater pub have been left spooked by a series of “ghostly” goings-on.

Wayne Brown, the manager of the Three Lions in High Street, said a mysterious silhouette had been seen above the pub's fireplace, and on another occasion, he discovered a pair of trousers he had left hanging up, neatly folded on the floor, when nobody else was in the building.

The latest incident has really left him spooked, however.

He showed the Mercury CCTV footage which he says shows a shadowy figure appearing in the bar area before disappearing out of shot.

Wayne told the Mercury that at the time the footage was shot, he had told his girlfriend Sharon Potter that he had felt a cold chill run through him.

He said: “It was like someone had passed through me. We checked the footage and saw the figure - it was very weird.”

The Mercury showed the footage to TV ghost expert Barri Ghai, director and lead investigator at the Ghostfinder Paranormal Society, but he believes the 'ghost' could be an insect.

He said: “This is a common occurrence on CCTV cameras but if they have been experiencing a lot of paranormal activity, the pub is welcome to get in touch and we can send a team of experts to investigate.”
