With the use of film cameras, errors in photography consisted of human error or mechanical error. The typical mechanical errors of film cameras may occur in the area of exposure and focus. Today, with the advent of digital photography, camera errors of a different type can occur. I will address a few of those issues.

Many camera manufacturers notify the buyers upon purchase that electrical interference may be experienced and produce faulty photographs. The message is usually packed neatly inside the camera box, which may or may not be noticed by the purchaser. But, the purchaser will notice the camera error once the photos are uploaded into their computer. To your right is a photo I took, which shows the effects of electrical interference.

The origins of electrical interference may come from multiple sources including computers, electric transformers and power poles.

Although, there seems to be a correlation between drained batteries and haunted houses, it has yet to be substantiated in the scientific community. Whereas the production of defective photos due to electrical interference can documented daily. My word of advice.......if the camera is new, take it back! Some cameras are more prone than others to keep repeating the same mistakes in processing.

Another camera error is the placement of the color black in the photograph. It seems that when a picture is taken in the darkness of night, the camera may malfunction and put the "black" in other areas of the photo. The dense blackness will usually appear at the edges of the photograph.

Unfortunately, many people assume that the photo does contain paranormal images, when in fact it is just camera error.

In my slide show, I have some examples at the end which show the end product of electrical interference and the misplacement of the color black. There is also a photo, which demonstrates what can happen when a digital form of double exposure occurs. It is not a pretty sight.
