Do you believe in ghosts? Many who've entered the doors of historic Miramont Castle in Manitou Springs would say yes.

In fact, it's considered one of the most haunted destinations in the country. In an 11 News exclusive, KKTV Anchor John Harding takes us on a paranormal investigation, the first captured for television from inside Miramont's walls.

Miramont Castle- 14,000 square feet of history that could fill volumes, but some of her stories are best told in the dark. 11 News Photographer Vince Autry joined John Harding and members of the Colorado Springs Paranormal Society for a rare look into Miramont's other side.

First comes the doll room- its best known occupant: a little girl often seen by castle staff, and possibly not wanting to be left alone. The paranormal group's K-2 meter reveals the little girl may not have been done playing, and very well may still be entertaining herself and her dolls in that room. She once told a family to leave- and they did, immediately.

Next, on to the father's room. Miramont was built by a french priest, Father Jean Baptiste Francolon, who brought his aristocrat mother to Manitou. A board member showed us how hand prints have shown up on the father's bed covers. The board member then smoothed the bedspread out and we all left the room. But, hours later, there are apparent signs of someone sitting on the bed. Investigators are forbidden to touch anything in that room, so who did it? Before we could answer that question, the lights turned on in the mother's bathroom- even though the room was empty.

Possibly the most unnerving room, the chapel, where voices are heard. For 45 minutes during the investigation, questions are asked out loud by investigators, hoping to entice the spirits. The K-2 meter can be seen jumping up and down. And then the oddest moment- when investigators clap in approval, the meter shows something, somewhere, claps along with them.

Coincidence? Supernatural? The search goes on, but what is certain is that we have found the unexpected.
