SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Some Slippery Rock University professors want to know once and for all if Miller Hall is truly haunted, so they hired professionals.

Many have said over the years that the ghost of Emma Miller roams the auditorium, where the university's theater department holds its productions. Miller was a trustee who died in 1970.

Overnight, some paranormal investigators with equipment gathered with students and staff to try to capture some sign of Miller. A university spokesman said Sunday that there was some circumstantial evidence of a ghost in the building.

"We've never been in a situation where we felt like we had to get rid of what was here," Slippery Rock theater professor David Skeele said. "It's a little scary sometimes if you're here alone late at night. It kind of can be a creepy place to be in general. I've got a theory that whatever's here likes good theater." The investigators will analyze the photos and audio recordings before issuing a ruling on whether the theater is truly haunted.
