Council house haunted by Roman ghost

Council house haunted by Roman ghost

10 February 2009
THE STRANGE tale of a Roman ghost in a Lancaster council house is to be included in a new book by a local author and TV presenter.
The book will be a collection of "true accounts" of encounters with ghosts and spirits throughout the city and its villages.

Already included are Lancaster Castle, a haunted autograph shop in China Street, and the alarming story of a council house and its occupants being haunted by a young Roman man and a cantankerous old woman who has taken over a bedroom.

Jason Karl and Adele Yeomans, authors for Galgate based publisher Carnegie Publishing, are set to spend a spooky Spring in the district for the third title in their Haunted Heritage series of books, to be published at Halloween.

Jason, who lives near Forton and has presented Most Haunted and ITV's Haunted Live said: "Lancaster is such an historic and architecturally beautiful city, with so many lanes, ancient buildings and monuments I am sure we will find a few skeletons in the cupboards!"

The paranormal pair are seeking more stories of ghosts and hauntings from Lancaster, or anywhere within a ten mile radius for inclusion in the book.

Hotels, public houses, private houses, shops, workplaces or anywhere else with a spooky tale all have the potential to form part of the project.

Anyone who may have "seen a ghost", or had any kind of supernatural encounter in the area should contact guardian@lmnews.co.uk
