Ghosts of Anoka Tour - Anoka, Minnesota

hosts of Anoka Tour - Anoka, Minnesota

This walking tour of downtown Anoka will have you wondering if there really are ghosts! The weaving together of the historical information about the community and the life and times of the past and the current things like the rocking chair rocks with no one sitting in it, the business in town where the employees won’t enter parts of the building because of the woman who can only be seen in a mirror, lights that turn on by themselves after the doors are locked in a business downtown, is there truly a Civil War soldier walking around the town? What about the stories of doors that lock themselves, ghosts that eat cookies, and the Kid menace of the Black Lantern Purifying Committee. All of these things are part of the story told by the expert storytellers of the Anoka County Historical Society.

You will be taken on the tour showing 20 different businesses in the downtown. The community was founded in 1844 when trading posts were established by the pioneers to do business with the Indians.

The Ghosts of Anoka Tour is a tribute to the communities claim to be the Halloween Capital of the World.
