Out of sight is not out of mind - clearing metaphysical dust bunnies

- The Nightlights -
Over the past few years, I have been asked to use my intuitive ability to help people who had ghost encounters in their homes but I avoided doing anything with a specific group because the people I helped didn't want any publicity or exposure.
I also experienced metaphysical encounters of my own in response to each engagement as a confirmation of my agreement to participate. It isn't predictable nor is it fun.
Some people were hesitant to share their experience at all and certainly wanted to avoid anything that resembled a dog and pony show. They just needed an affirmation that what they were dealing with could be sensed or felt by an arbitrary other who might be able to offer information on how to cope with events they hoped to keep quiet for fear of being labeled crazy. Committee approval wasn't required to determine the validity of their belief their space was haunted.
So when I got an invitation to join a group of paranormal investigators and offer my impressions, it was an opportunity to try something new. The difference being that I didn't deal directly with the client nor did I have to produce an outcome. I just got to offer my two cents on what I thought might be going on with the energy of the space.
The perk was the potential to see a material or scientific result for events I can only intuit/sense. The down side is that - aside from the energetic fluctuations - most of the things I sense can't be corroborated in a material fashion. They seem rather like stories or fiction. And to make it more frustrating, they only impact certain individuals and not 24/7. AND I still have the pre-visit metaphysical ding to confirm that I have agreed to work with the energy of the space.
However, the fact that - on some plane - those events and that fiction does affect the living gives me an incentive to explore, in my own way, and offer insight on how and why it might be happening. That result might help those who have to encounter it on a daily basis.
After seeing how the group investigation process works, I can see a few potential glitches in the system that might create metaphysical fallout for the investigators and other participants who go along for the sessions. While it's a given the people living in the environment might be impacted in some form because they interact with the energy of the space daily, the wild card is the impact it might have on one who shows up for a brief visit.
So - after experiencing the aftereffects first hand - here's the warning: Much like opening a door, in some way, shape or form, anyone who agrees to visit a space known for paranormal activities is opening him/herself to take on or become part of the drama. One who is unaware of that scenario is not immune.
There are some spaces that seem innocuous in terms of visible ghost activity and yet are so much more energetically intense, that they manifest a residual energy impact that drains or creates an imbalance for several hours or even days after an encounter.
The problem with all of this is that it sets up a scenario for future engagements of that type of energy drain. I don't think this awareness will keep anyone from joining or pursuing ghost hunting/investigations. I hope to create an awareness that there is more to the encounter than a sighting or a tire-kicking expedition.
Ghosts are not the only metaphysical/paranormal energies present at a site known to be haunted. Eventually, we will know more about the scope of this type of activity. Until then, it pays to be aware of the normal psychic baggage you arrive with and the added paranormal baggage you might acquire after participating in one of these forays.
If this doesn't apply to you, wonderful. If it does, you are not alone. It is part of the territory. There is a reason shamans and others prepared before they took this type of energy on.
Metaphysical dust bunnies multiply faster than you can say "Bob's your uncle." It is the kind of dead weight that is best identified, bagged and tagged, and disengaged on site to avoid tracking mud back to your own house.
Symptoms of metaphysical/psychic overload or contamination:
Headaches
Malaise
Flu like symptoms
Muscle fatigue and aches in the joints
Remedy:
Psychic cleansing and blessing of self and space
Grounding
Energy work to shift and elevate your vibration
Prayer
Advise: Get your spiritual house in order. Travel light. And call for help when things/reality starts to get out of hand. It won't be a thing you have to guess at. You will know. Knowing where to go for help is another matter entirely. That will be up to you.
It is beneficial to have a solid spiritual grounding and a conscious engagement with a higher source. Having no belief leaves you hanging on a limb. And when the beyond-belief-astonishing, mind-bending-extraordinary stuff starts happening - you really don't want to be out there dangling.
