READY FOR DEBATE: Peter Frost-Pennington
The Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Paranormal and Anomalous Experiences Conference will camp at Muncaster Castle between September 18 and 20 to carry out the study.
The team will also include a representative from the Ministry of Defence X-files.
Owner of the castle, Peter Frost-Pennington, said: “The conference presents a great opportunity for everyone to open their minds and challenge their beliefs about the world we live in.
“With both sides of the arguments represented, there promises to be some very lively debate indeed.”
Last November, public tests were carried out at the castle.
The results showed that one in three visitors experienced spooky goings on.
The test was carried out by Psychologist Dr Jason Braithwaite.
On the latest conference he said: “This is a really exciting event and we are tremendously lucky to attract such an array of researchers and experts to this small corner of the Lake District.
“I hope the event enjoys a great deal of interest from the public and people come along and support us.
“It is something very special.”
Anyone can attend the conference, which includes a wine reception.
Participants will also have access to the castle grounds.
Tickets for the event cost £65 per person if bought before July 1, or £75 after that date.
