Ghost hunting, that is what many of us at WIX informally call what we do. A more scientific term would be paranormal research and/or investigation. The purpose of WIX is to research accurately and classify these rumored haunted sites as either haunted or not haunted. These haunted sites come to WIX through various sources either from online, by word of mouth, or from a book, to name a few. With a clear and unbiased mindset, we travel to these places with our equipment to get the proper readings from the numerous parameters that our equipment tests. We also conduct personal interviews and research through archives and other historically accurate sources to understand the true past behind these Wisconsin hauntings. It is our duty to find out whether any paranormal activity does actually occur at these haunted sites. We hope to classify these sites fairly, debunk any supposed rumors or myths, and ultimately find out what lies beneath the alleged surface.

Many people would consider what we do as folly or even a lost cause. WIX is in a constant search to understand why these places have been deemed haunted. Many sites can be written off as basic hoaxes, misinterpretation and/or exaggeration of the past history, or people seeing and/or experiencing things that can be explained with a rational mind. However, without investigation, how can one truly be sure what is really going on? What if there are really unexplained happenings at even one site? Humanity is in a constant search of obtaining knowledge and investigating for the truth. At WIX, we are participating actively at uncovering just one of the many mysteries of life. And throughout human history, many of these people were first ridiculed or considered mad. But, where would we be without Christopher Columbus taking a risk to explore the unknown world? Or even, what would we do if there was not a Galileo Galilei who battled with Catholic Church over his theories about the universe? Life is dotted with people who defy the conventional bounds of reasoning and what is supposed to be. These people gave the world some of the greatest ideas, technological advancements, and basic understandings that affect all of our lives on a daily basis. In no way is WIX comparable to these great figures or their phenomenal deeds; but we are out to explore, research, and investigate the unknown just like they did. And who knows, we might just be able to find evidence that these paranormal activities actually exist and occur, which would open the door to a brand new human understanding.
